Cristiano Ronaldo has married his long-time partner Georgina Rodriguez in a civil ceremony in Portugal, bringing an eight-year relationship to a new chapter.
The 41-year-old Portugal captain and Rodriguez, who began dating in 2016 after meeting in Madrid, confirmed their marriage by sharing a photograph of their wedding rings on social media.
The ceremony was held in Cascais, a coastal town west of Lisbon, and was attended by the couple’s five children.
Ronaldo and Rodriguez have been together throughout several major stages of the footballer’s career. Their relationship began during his time at Real Madrid before continuing as he moved to Juventus and later returned to Manchester United. Ronaldo joined Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr in 2023.
The wedding came just four days before Al Nassr were scheduled to begin their 2026-27 Saudi Pro League campaign. The club is now coached by former Tottenham Hotspur, Celtic and Nottingham Forest manager Ange Postecoglou.
Ronaldo remains one of the most decorated and prolific footballers in history. He has represented Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Al Nassr and Portugal, scoring close to 1,000 goals across his career.
The forward also recently appeared at his sixth FIFA World Cup, matching Lionel Messi’s record for appearances at the men’s tournament.
Ronaldo has since confirmed that the 2026 tournament was his final World Cup appearance. However, he has stopped short of announcing his retirement from international football.
The Portugal captain said he wanted time to consider his future rather than make a decision immediately after the tournament.
Ronaldo has won three major international titles with Portugal, including the 2016 European Championship. He has also remained a key figure for the national team well into his 40s.
With his wedding now behind him, Ronaldo is expected to turn his attention to the new season with Al Nassr while continuing to assess his international future.
