Kylian Mbappe says he has found peace in Spain after years of intense pressure in France.
The Real Madrid forward, who is in his second season at the Santiago Bernabeu, said life in the Spanish capital has allowed him to mentally and physically recharge after his time in Paris.
“I have found more peace. In France I have less peace,” Mbappe said.
The 26-year-old France captain stressed his comments were not a criticism of his home country, but a reflection of a different lifestyle.
“It’s true that I’m a bit more relaxed. This isn’t an attack on France, but it’s true that I’m more relaxed in Madrid,” he said. “The lifestyle is different, it’s less hectic than in Paris.”
Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe says he has finally found peace in the Spanish capital, crediting the club’s calmer environment for helping him recharge after a demanding spell in Paris.
Mbappe, who became Paris Saint-Germain’s all-time top scorer with 256 goals during seven prolific years in Paris, said the move was also about personal growth.
He said he has found ‘more peace’ in the Spanish capital and that he ‘wanted to get to know a different culture’.
“I wanted to learn a new culture, to adapt quickly to Spanish culture,” Mbappe said. “I still have a little way to go, of course, but I think every day I feel better in Spain.”
The striker has made a blistering start to his second season in Madrid, with his calmer off-field life translating into stellar form on the pitch.
