Churches across Kenya have unveiled an extensive ministry calendar for the second half of 2026, featuring conferences, crusades, youth conventions, leadership summits and community outreach programs aimed at strengthening faith and promoting national unity.

Church leaders said the scheduled activities are expected to draw thousands of worshippers from different denominations, with a focus on spiritual growth, discipleship, youth empowerment and community service.

“The Church remains committed to spreading the Gospel while responding to the needs of society. These programmes are meant to strengthen faith, encourage unity and inspire hope among Kenyans,” a church leader said.

Among the major events planned is the Association of Member Episcopal Conferences in Eastern Africa (AMECEA) Plenary Assembly, which will be hosted in Nairobi. The gathering will bring together Catholic bishops from countries across Eastern Africa to discuss evangelization, youth empowerment, peacebuilding, social justice and the Church’s response to challenges affecting the region.

Religious leaders said the assembly will provide an opportunity for the Church to strengthen regional collaboration while addressing issues affecting communities across East Africa.

Several Protestant and evangelical denominations have also announced annual conventions, revival meetings, pastors’ conferences and leadership forums, many of which will be held during the school holiday period to allow greater participation by families and young people.

Church officials said youth-focused programs will emphasize mentorship, leadership development, talent nurturing and moral values.

“We are preparing programmes that will mentor young people, nurture their talents and help them become responsible leaders in their communities and in the nation,” another church leader said.

Beyond spiritual activities, churches are expanding community outreach initiatives that include free medical camps, food distribution, prison ministry, school missions and environmental conservation campaigns.

Faith leaders said the outreach programs are intended to complement government efforts by supporting vulnerable families, promoting social welfare and encouraging peaceful coexistence.

Participants attending the events said church gatherings provide encouragement during challenging times and strengthen community bonds.

“Church gatherings give us hope and encouragement. They remind us to pray for our country, support one another and continue living according to God’s word,” one worshipper said.

The release of the ministry calendars comes as Kenya prepares for the 2027 General Election. Church leaders have urged citizens to reject divisive politics, uphold peaceful coexistence and participate in nation-building through dialogue, prayer and acts of compassion.

Religious organizations have historically played a significant role in promoting peace, civic education and humanitarian assistance during periods of political transition and national emergencies.

Leaders said the busy calendar reflects the continued commitment of faith-based organizations to fostering spiritual growth while contributing to social transformation and national cohesion.

They expressed optimism that the planned conferences, conventions and outreach programs will not only deepen the faith of believers but also strengthen communities through service, unity and shared responsibility.
