The Chemuliel Water Project is poised to be a life-changer in the lives of Tinderet Ward residents thanks to the leadership of MCA Hon. Paul Birech. The ambitious project will touch over 500 households, transforming lives in Kandubaiwek, Meteitei, Sigowet, Ndoroto, Kipyaor, Olomotit and Setek Dispensary.

The inhabitants of these areas have lived for years without adequate water, fetching from unreliable streams and unclean water sources. Fetching water was typically left to women and children, who had to walk far in the sun to fetch water, which consumed hours of their day and left them with little time to go to school, farming, and other productive activities. All this is now a thing of the past with the start of this project.

Hon. Birech, during his visit to the project sites, was eager to emphasize that the initiative is not merely a matter of delivering clean water but also about reclaiming the dignity of the people. “Clean water is a human right. This project will put an end to the agony our people have suffered over generations,” he said.

The Chemuliel Water Project fetches water from a safe source and utilizes the newest piping systems to supply uninterrupted supply to houses in the six target areas. The project design is domestic-oriented and small-scale irrigation, offering farmers an opportunity to boost agricultural production and food security.

In addition to resolving the water deficit, the project has also created jobs for local technicians and casual workers. Local technicians, plumbers, and local area technicians have been engaged in the construction process, while local suppliers have been boosted by buying supplies. This economic boost is helping to pump money back into the region.

The residents have received the project with open arms and gratitude, with some of them saying that the project will transform their lives. Parents believe it will improve the health of their children since instances of waterborne diseases will decrease. Farmers will expand their farms, while small businesspeople are looking forward to greater productivity and expansion.

The Chemuliel Water Project is not only a development project—it is a promise fulfilled and a pillar of economic and social progress. Through its actualization, Tinderet Ward takes a huge stride toward sustainable development, with the assurance that future generations will be blessed with a community in which clean water flows abundantly into each home.
