A section of boda boda riders in Eldoret and it’s environment have been trained on how to handle an emergency in case it happens since they are the first people to arrive on the scene ,Secretary General Kenya Red cross has revealed.

According to the Secretary General Kenya Red cross Idriss Mohammed he said whenever an incident happens they respond first since they are everywhere in town .

Speaking at Eldoret Central Primary School during their marking of 60 years in existence Mohamed said many lives will be saved because of learning skills like first aid.

During the celebration boda boda riders in Eldoret town show cases their skills in first aid when handling an emergency .

Echoing his sentiments Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Evans Kapkea said they will partner with Kenya Red cross to ensure that more boda boda are trained in life saving skills saying that with the expansion of Eldoret into a city status many youths engage in the business to eke a living.

The Deputy Governor said that incidents like fire and accidents victims can easily get help if first aid is initiated .
