Former Football Kenya Federation, FKF, Secretary General Barry Otieno has released an ambitious blueprint geared at transforming Kenyan football, with a promise to effect revolutionary changes both on and off the pitch.

In a press statement dispatched to newsrooms on Sunday, Otieno outlined his commitment to elevating the sport by anchoring his focus on four critical areas: club empowerment, improvement in governance, holistic development, and nurturing talent from grassroots to glory.

Otieno’s declaration has come when Kenyan football is sailing through a rough storm-from administrative bottlenecks to perceived little success in the pitch.
However, Otieno sounded upbeat as he rallied the entire football fraternity to stand together and work as one in realizing the nation’s hidden potential.

“My commitment and vision are simple: building a stronger, more inclusive, and successful football nation,” Otieno said. “Away from the field, we have focused our football development in four key areas: Empowering Clubs, entrenching better Governance, Holistic Development and Grassroots to Glory.

The former FKF Secretary General reiterated that the future of Kenyan football depends on some form of unity among stakeholders in the sport. He urged for a team effort to help outshine the personal interests and challenges being experienced in the sport, which has jeopardized the growth in this country.

According to Otieno, with the appropriate support coupled with concerted effort, the country can realize a football federation that will ensure triumph not only on the football pitch but also in management, development, and administration.

“With your support, we can convert this potential into reality,” he added, exuding confidence in the innate abilities of Kenyan footballers and the wider football ecosystem. “Together, we can build a federation that doesn’t only win on the pitch but also shines in the aspects of governance, development, and administration.”

Otieno called on all stakeholders, including clubs, administrators, and fans, to team up with him in his mission of changing the face of Kenyan football.

His was a talk of collaboration, emphasizing how success can only be realized when all hands are on deck to achieve an oriented goal.

“We humbly ask for your support in this journey. Let’s unite, professionalize and take Kenyan football to unprecedented heights,” he concluded.

Otieno’s vision is the birth of a new wave in terms of facing the much-engineered problems that have long plagued the sport in Kenya, promising to pay attention not just to immediate results but in laying a sustainable foundation for the future.
