DCI Eldoret Seizes 1,000 Liters of Ethanol Linked to Illegal Liquor Production; Public Applauds Police Efforts

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Eldoret have successfully seized 1,000 liters of ethanol suspected to be utilized in the local production of illegal liquor.
Uasin Gishu County Police Commander, Benjamin Mwanthi, affirmed the operation’s success, stating, “One suspect has been apprehended and will be arraigned in court.”
The security officers intercepted the ethanol estimated at half a million shillings concealed within a Toyota Fielder vehicle. This significant seizure marks another milestone in the ongoing efforts to curb the proliferation of illicit brews within our county.
Members of the public, represented by individuals like Brown Mase, have expressed their support for the law enforcement agencies’ relentless pursuit of those involved in the illegal liquor trade. Mase stated, “We applaud the police for their continued fight against the illicit brew within the county.”
Commander Mwanthi issued a stern warning to establishments selling illegal liquor, cautioning them against engaging in unlawful activities. This latest enforcement action underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to maintain law and order and protect public health and safety within Uasin Gishu County.
