Preliminary investigations indicate the victim was a girl believed to be about 16 years old. Police said her body had been wrapped in a mosquito net, with both her hands and legs tied, suggesting an attempt to conceal the crime.
Investigators also observed suspected stab wounds on the neck and below the left arm, strengthening suspicions that the teenager was killed before her body was dumped in the river.

Unidentified Body Recovered From Ngong River
In a separate incident, detectives are investigating the death of an unidentified man whose body was recovered from the Ngong River in Nairobi’s Kayole area.
The body was discovered in the Mathioya Totobora section of the river after members of the public alerted authorities.
Police officers from Soweto Police Station, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kayole, and crime scene investigators responded to the scene.
The deceased is believed to be an African man aged about 30 years. Investigators said no identification documents were found on him, and there were no visible external injuries.
However, the body had already begun decomposing and was emitting a strong odor, indicating it had likely remained in the river for several days before being discovered.
After documenting the scene, officers transferred the body to Nairobi City Mortuary, where it will await identification and a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
Detectives from DCI Kayole have opened an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
