Fresh attacks have been reported across parts of the Gulf with both Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates confirming incidents early Monday which were marked by loud explosions and the activation of air raid sirens.
In a statement Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense revealed that two ballistic missiles had been detected heading toward the capital. The ministry reported that one of the missiles was successfully intercepted by air defense systems while the second missile landed in an unoccupied area which resulted in no immediate casualties.
The United Arab Emirates authorities announced their defense systems were currently engaged in intercepting missile and drone threats which they believed were originating from Iran. The officials explained that the sounds which spread throughout the entire country had originated from air defense units who conducted interception operations against aerial threats.
Abu Dhabi officials confirmed earlier today that an Indian national had suffered injuries after being struck by debris from a missile that had been intercepted mid-air. Emergency services responded promptly and the individual received necessary medical attention.
Authorities in Bahrain activated warning sirens which led them to issue safety advisories. The residents received instructions to stay calm while they needed to immediately seek shelter at the closest safe spots. The interior ministry used social media platforms to reinforce the message which highlighted the critical need for people to adhere to safety protocols during the ongoing situation.
The situation shows how Gulf countries which had been viewed as secure and stable face increasing dangers from the Middle East conflict. The latest incidents come amid heightened tensions which have developed after Iran launched retaliatory strikes against Israel and United States joint military operations.
The Gulf region contains strategic landmarks which include airports oil installations ports and other facilities that have raised concerns about regional security and the risk of further conflict escalation.
