Derrick Omanga Tom, a 25-year-old who used to be an intern at RMS, has gone missing, with the situation causing a lot of apprehension among his relatives, friends, and colleagues. Derrick, a Mwihoko 160, Kiambu County, resident, has not been available since Friday, December 5, 2025.

Derrick has been reported to have gone to work as usual on the day he disappeared. The entire day that he spent before he disappeared had been at the Air Travel and Related Studies Centre in Karen, which he is attached to in the department of digital marketing. Nothing different had been noticed when he interacted with his colleagues, as he had all along been going about his businesses as usual, spending the evening hours leaving the workplace as usual.

Later that night, Derrick was last seen alighting from a matatu along Ngong Road, close to the Adams area. The last garments he wore, which were identified by witnesses, included brown trousers, a grey checked shirt, as well as a white and black jacket. This marked the end of all contact with him, throwing his relatives into distress when he failed to come back home.

In a move to locate him, the family has been using mobile tracking services, which revealed that Derrick’s mobile phone was last tracked in the Kasarani area, close to Thome Estate, at around 11:00 p.m. on the same evening, but has been unavailable ever since.

Relatives confirm that they have exhaustively searched for him by visiting different police stations, hospitals, and mortuaries not only in Nairobi but also in Kiambu. No leads have been obtained so far to justify his disappearance. A police report has been filed, and the police are still investigating.

Derrick is a recent university graduate, with his graduation taking place on October 24, 2025. This is a significant event that marked the beginning of his professional life, which appears promising. The parents describe him as a calm, disciplined, and level-headed young boy with set goals for his own life that he wants to realize.

The call has been joined by his friends, colleagues, and even family members for support from the public who may have any piece of information that may assist in his location. They are asking anyone who might have come into contact with Derrick on the night of December 5th onwards to come to the nearest police station. Despite ongoing searches, the family remains optimistic that he might return safely, with a call from the family to the people of Kenya to keep him in thought.
