Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is unlikely to leave Old Trafford this summer, despite major interest from Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal.
According to Sporting CP manager Rúben Amorim, the Portuguese playmaker has shown no intention of leaving the Premier League side, even as Al Hilal reportedly prepare a massive offer to lure him away.
Speaking to reporters, Amorim revealed that Fernandes has turned down multiple approaches and remains committed to Manchester United.
“My feeling is that Bruno wants to stay. He is saying no to a lot of things, a lot of approaches,” Amorim said.
Al Hilal, one of the wealthiest clubs in Saudi Arabia, are reportedly ready to meet any financial demands from both the player and Manchester United to secure Fernandes’ signature.
However, Amorim was quick to dismiss the speculation, stressing that Fernandes appears determined to continue leading United through what has been a challenging period for the club.
“The club can find other ways to make money,” Amorim added, referencing growing rumours that United might offload big names to ease financial constraints or restructure the squad.
Despite Manchester United’s inconsistent season and growing pressure on the club to rebuild, Fernandes has remained a central figure. His performances and leadership have continued to draw admiration from fans and pundits alike, making him a key asset that manager Erik ten Hag would be reluctant to lose.
While Amorim admitted that football is unpredictable—saying “you never know”—he maintained that all indications point to Fernandes staying put for now. “This is the clear feeling I have,” he concluded.
