In a vibrant show of unity, journalists and Red Cross members gathered at Media Hub Grounds in Eldoret for an exciting team-building event. The activity brought together media professionals from Uasin Gishu and Red Cross officials under one goal — to strengthen collaboration and promote mental wellness.
Interactive Activities at Media Hub Grounds
The day was packed with fun, fitness, and valuable lessons in teamwork.
Lindah Muhanji, an attaché at Media Hub, expressed her excitement:“We enjoyed ourselves through various activities aligned with the CBC curriculum. It helped us exercise, interact, and learn to work better as a team.”
Her remarks captured the day’s spirit — laughter, movement, and meaningful connections.
Stronger Bonds Among Journalists
Gideon Ngeno, another Media Hub attaché, appreciated the opportunity to connect with fellow journalists:“We got a chance to interact with colleagues from across Uasin Gishu. It was a beautiful event, full of love and shared experiences. We look forward to more of these.”
This exchange not only fostered friendships but also built stronger bonds within the local media community.

UGJA Commits to More Engagement
Edmond Ngeno, Chairperson Welfare of the Uasin Gishu Journalists Association (UGJA), praised the team spirit and revealed upcoming plans:“I thank UGJA members and Red Cross Uasin Gishu for making this day successful. Members fully engaged in activities promoting teamwork and mental wellness. We plan to roll out similar sessions to address organizational issues like coordination and mental health.”
He emphasized the importance of continuous engagement to boost morale and cooperation within the journalism fraternity.
Red Cross Celebrates 60 Years of Service
Red Cross also used the occasion to highlight their ongoing 60th anniversary celebrations.
Tracy Maguta, a Red Cross official, shared:“This year marks 60 years of serving humanity. We’ve hosted many events, and we invite everyone to join our mission. One key upcoming event is a 21km walkathon on October 10th, in honor of World Mental Health Day.”
She noted that journalists would play a vital role in broadcasting the walkathon’s message to the wider community.
