In a commendable display of law enforcement diligence, police officers in Eldoret have apprehended two young men implicated in a series of violent robberies.
The recovery of a revolver gun underscores the severity of their criminal activities. These individuals, aged between 20 and 25 years, had been preying upon residents of Elgon View Estate and Naiberi, particularly those engaged in morning exercises and jogging routines in the vicinity.
According to the Uasin Gishu County Police Commander Benjamin Mwanthi , the perpetrators hailed from Nairobi and had been lodging in the area while orchestrating their crimes, predominantly utilizing a motorbike for swift getaways. He emphasized, ‘Our officers have diligently tracked their movements since March, and today culminated in their apprehension. I wish to reassure the residents of Elgon View and the public at large of their safety.’

Daniel Muleli, the Uasin Gishu County Criminal Investigation Officer, affirmed that the three suspects will undergo thorough interrogation before being presented in court. Additionally, a ballistic examination will be conducted to ascertain if the revolver gun has been implicated in other criminal activities.
Members of the public have been urged to come forward and identify any stolen mobile phones recovered by the authorities.
Eldoret Media Hub, a working space for journalists based in Uasin Gishu County set up by the Uasin Gishu Journalists Association (UGJA) through a Media Council of Kenya (MCK) grant.
