Health officials in Uasin Gishu County will vaccinate 430 children against rubella and typhoid during a 10-day campaign beginning July 5, 2025.
Uasin Gishu Director of Medical Services Evans Kiprotich said the campaign targets children under five years old and will run through July 14. He urged parents to cooperate with health teams and emphasized the importance of preventive care.
“Prevention is better than cure,” Kiprotich said during a press briefing in Eldoret.
Vaccinations will be administered at local health centers and extended to churches over the weekends to reach more families.
A media survey found that typhoid, often caused by drinking dirty water or consuming contaminated food, remains a common illness among adults in the area.
Kiprotich encouraged all parents with young children to take advantage of the campaign to protect their families.
