The countdown for the 2025 Kenya Secondary School Sports Association (KSSSA) Uasin Gishu County Games has started. With facilities and venues established, the county’s top schools are preparing for a fierce battle in football, rugby, volleyball, and basketball—all to secure bragging rights and an all-expense-paid trip to the regionals.

Football: Chebisaas and UoE Grounds Are in the Limelight

There is a significant shift this year in the boys’ soccer tournament, shifting from Hill School to Chebisaas High School, signaling the start of a new era for the high-profile county tournament.

Title contenders Arnesens High are pooled in Pool A, where they will battle traditional enemies Racecourse Secondary and Kandie Secondary in what is expected to be a volatile group.

Pool B will see hosts Chebisaas Boys looking to take advantage of home turf against Moi’s Bridge High and Simat Boys. In Pool C, RCEA Kuinet, Wareng High, and UoE Secondary battle it out, while Concord High, Moi Chuiyat, and Paul Boit slug it out in Pool D.

On the girls’ side, all eyes are on titleholders Moi Girls, who begin their title defense at the UoE Secondary grounds against Ngeria High and Kapsiliot in Pool A. The other pools feature top contenders Kerotet Girls, Turbo Girls, and Wareng High, setting up a combustible showdown.

Rugby 7s: Wareng to Host the Tackle FestRugby fans will flock to Wareng Secondary, which hosts both boys’ and girls’ 7s action.

In the boys’ category, Eldoret GK appears twice in Pool A and Pool D, with drama and confusion waiting to be unraveled. They face tough competition from Simat, Bishop Korir, Wareng, and Chebisaas.
 
There will be fireworks in Pool C where Racecourse, AIC Teldet, and Paul Boit clash.The girls’ rugby 7s is not any spicier. Pool A boasts KoIwoarusen, Sego, and Turbo Girls, and Kimumu, Chepsaita, and Barekeiwo hold down Pool D. Tackle will be tough, and stakes louder yet.

In the girls’ pools, powerhouses like Kapsiliot, Ziwa, and Newlight tower above the rest. On the boys’ side, the powerhouses are Chebisaas, Moi Chuiyat, and Torochmoi, all with eyes on the county title.

Basketball 3×3: 
Action-Packed Speed on Courts
Basketball fans will be treated as the 3×3 format makes a comeback, with speed and skills on the court. Segero ADV, Arnesens, and UGHS head Pool A for the boys, while St. Anthony, Wareng, and Moas head Pool C.

The girls’ 3×3 fixtures promise to be fierce, with Loreto, Moi Girls, Hill School, and Turbo Girls all hoping to register slam-dunk victories.
