Uasin Gishu County Assembly Orders Safety Inspection of Recreational Facilities!

This directive comes in the wake of the tragic incident that occurred on Saturday 28th October, when five KCPE students from Arap Moi Primary School drowned in a man-made pool at a recreational facility in the county.

The ill-fated boat that killed 5 KCPE candidates from Arap Moi Primary School at an amusement park in Ainabkoi, Uasin Gishu.

The Uasingishu County Assembly has directed  the Department of Youth Affairs, Sports, ICT and Innovation to conduct a county-wide inspection of all recreational facilities to ascertain safety standards and mitigate incidents such as the one that led to the death of five KCPE students from Arap Moi Primary School.

The Assembly has called on all recreational facility operators to cooperate with the Department during the inspection process. The Assembly has also urged parents to be vigilant when taking their children to recreational facilities.
