Trade Unions Protest in Nairobi over Finance Bill

Various Public Unions in the Country have held peaceful processions to parliament protesting against The Finance Bill, 2023.
The Move comes when the proposed finance bill has been tabled in parliament for the preliminary hearing.
The Unions include The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT)Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Union KMPDU, The Universities Academic Staff Union (UASU),Kenya Universities Staff Union(KUSU) and KUDHEHIA -The Kenya Union of Domestic, Hotels, Educational Institutions, Hospitals and Allied Workers.

Uasu Protest proposed Finance Bill,2023
The Trade unions met at The University of Nairobi Chancellor’s Court and proceeded to parliament buildings.The bill has so far received retaliation from the opposition and the majority of the public sector.
Ruto’s government has drawn up a 3.6-trillion shilling($26.2 billion) budget for 2023/24 with the proposed new taxes expected to generate 289 billion shillings.
