Tension is high in Nyandarua County after 44-year-old Ruigi Ndubi allegedly died by suicide while in custody at Turasha Police Station.
Ndubi, from Kipipiri, had been arrested for allegedly obstructing police officers. However, his family disputes the official account, raising concerns over the suspicious circumstances of his death.

“We don’t even know who arrested him,” said Simon Irungu, a relative, in an interview with Inooro TV. “The explanation makes no sense.”
Local leaders, including Githioro Ward MCA Isaac Mbae, have joined the family in calling for an investigation by the DCI and IPOA, arguing the police report is unconvincing.
The family is demanding a transparent, independent postmortem and has vowed to reject any rushed conclusions, warning that lack of accountability will only fuel further suspicion.
