Some of the 100 displaced families in Kipkaren settlement area on the outskirt of Eldoret town were on Saturday evening reportedly attacked by goons who were allegedly accompanied by Kipkaren/Kipekenyo ward member of County assembly.
Mzee Julius Tarus, 76 who is among the families that were settled by the government on the property was brutally attacked by a group of seven young men led by the MCA who broke into his house,beat him up and threatened to torch his house after they went public over the involvement of the local leader in Land Grabbing.
However the Area MCA has vehemently denied being involved in Land grabbing.
Mzee Tarus who has fled for his life reported the incident at Yamumbi Police post where he was advised by police officers not to spend the night at his house,
“They came to my house, I locked myself but they managed to break into and beat me up seriously, they claim i talked to the media over the involvement of the MCA in numerous cases of land grabbing” He Said.

Yamumbi police officers have visited the scene however no arrests have been made nor has the local leader been summoned.
Kapseret sub county deputy commissioner has promised to look into the matter.
The Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Dr Eddyson Nyale is Tuesday expected to hold a meeting In Kipkenyo ward following a public outcry over land grabbing issues.
