Safaricom Foundation has unveiled Ndoto Zetu Phase 7, a transformative initiative aimed at uplifting over one million Kenyans through sustainable projects in health, education, and economic empowerment across all 47 counties.
With an additional KES 100 million committed to this phase, the Foundation’s total investment in the Ndoto Zetu initiative since its inception in 2019 now stands at KES 600 million.
The launch took place at Eldoret Special School in Uasin Gishu County, where the Foundation donated knitting machines and materials to bolster the school’s vocational unit. These tools will enable learners to produce and sell hand-crafted products, fostering economic independence and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities.

Dr. Peter Ndegwa, CEO of Safaricom PLC, emphasized the initiative’s community-driven ethos, stating, “With Ndoto Zetu, we are inspired by everyday Kenyans who dare to dream not just for themselves, but for their communities. As we launch Phase 7, we are walking this journey with you, because when your dream lifts others, it becomes our dream too.”
Since its launch, Ndoto Zetu has completed over 1,820 projects, directly impacting more than 3 million people nationwide. In the past year alone, the Foundation delivered 400 projects, including 294 in education, 52 in health, and 54 in economic empowerment. These efforts have addressed critical community challenges, from improving access to education to enhancing healthcare infrastructure and supporting income-generating activities.
In a parallel effort, the M-Pesa Foundation launched its Wezesha Mama Programme in the Rift region, partnering with Hand-in-Hand to empower women’s groups. The programme provides training, resources, and financial support to help women establish sustainable businesses, further strengthening community resilience and economic growth.
