President William Ruto has promised hefty bonuses if Harambee Stars beat Zambia in their final Group A game of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) on Sunday, August 17, at Kasarani Stadium.
Each of the players will receive KSh 2.5 million for winning. The President also vowed to award them a two-bedroom apartment in the government’s affordable housing project. In case the team qualifies to the CHAN semi-finals, each player will also get an extra KSh 1 million.

The Harambee Stars have shown what can be achieved with unity. They have inspired the country. This might be our turn to triumph in CHAN since the trophy is within reach,” he added.
The Head of State urged the team to fight for the crown and make history.
“We have agreed on the incentives. The players will receive KSh 2.5 million for beating Zambia. Reaching the quarter-finals will earn them an additional KSh 1 million and a two-bedroomed house in their area of choice,” he added.
Ruto also kept his earlier promise of offering the team an incentive for beating Morocco. The players received KSh 1 million each after the 1-0 victory.

The Kenyan side leads Group A with seven points. Angola has four, and DR Congo and Morocco are both on three points.
The fans are expected to fill the stadium with the home team expecting to win. The match will not just decide group qualification but also set the tone for the knockout phase.
The President’s inspiration has increased morale in the camp. The coaches and players believe the extra inspiration could drive them to victory.
Kenya is chasing its first CHAN title. A win against Guinea on Sunday would help them inch towards that objective.
