President William Ruto has praised ODM leader Raila Odinga for his “wise and timely” address during the Third National Executive Retreat held at the KCB Leadership Centre in Karen.

Ruto, in a statement on his official X account, described Raila’s contribution as resonating with the values of the Kenya Kwanza administration, particularly his call for leaders to prioritize what is right over what is popular.

“We have been honoured by the apt wisdom, insights, and ideas shared by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga,” said Ruto. “His call for leaders to focus on what is right aligns with our administration’s principles.”

Raila also touched on key national development priorities, including affordable housing, modern markets, infrastructure expansion, and the role of Artificial Intelligence in transforming service delivery. Ruto welcomed Raila’s support of the government’s digitisation efforts and its broader transformation agenda.

This address comes months after Raila signed a cooperation pact with the Ruto government, signalling growing collaboration between the two despite past political rivalries.

The three-day retreat, chaired by President Ruto, brings together Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and top government officials. The focus this year is on seven pillars: the economy, agriculture, health, education, digitisation, MSMEs, and job creation.
