Police officers in Eldoret linked to increased robbery with violence cases; Governor Bii

Uasin Gishu County Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim has expressed his disappointment over the increased cases of insecurity in the county.
The County boss has called upon the Uasin Gishu Security team led by the county commissioner Eddyson Nyale and the Uasin Gishu County Police commander to mitigate the runaway insecurity that continues to scare away investors.
In The recent past Uasin Gishu county has witnessed a spate of increased Robbery with Violence cases associated with certain police officers as well as Murder cases.
“Recently an M-pesa shop was invaded by robbers and it seems some of our police officers may have taken part in the robbery”, Said the Governor.
The Governor has noted the need to have security beefed in the President’s Backyard at a time when Eldoret Town is gearing up for the City Status.
“For Eldoret to be a city, we need to ensure we have adequate security both for the residents and the business community, we can’t have investors if we continue to witness the spiraling insecurity cases “, he added.
A few days ago, Edwin Kiptoo Alias Chiloba An LGBTQ activits and a Student at the University of Eldoret was murdered and his body stashed in a metallic box and dumped along kipkenyo-kaptinga road in Kapseret Uasin Gishu County.
Sleuths from the directorate of Criminal Investigations in Eldoret have since arrested key Suspects in the Murder case and were on Monday aligned before an Eldoret Court among them Jackton Odhiambo the Key suspect .
