Property of unknown value was on Tuesday gutted down In Nandi County’s Baraton Center, when a fire broke out due to a short circuit in one of the residential houses.
It is purported that the occupant of the house inadvertently left a gas leak, leading to the sudden eruption of flames.
The affected houses, which were home to both students from the nearby University of Eastern Africa Baraton and local workers, suffered extensive damage and were reduced to ashes, leaving several comrades without a place to call home.
Promptly responding to the emergency, firefighters swiftly arrived at the scene, accompanied by the local Nandi Police and a fleet of ambulances, all working together to control the blaze and ensure the safety of those affected.
Fortunately, no lives were lost in this unfortunate incident, providing some solace amidst the devastation.
