Mourinho: We Want To WIN Every Competition

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has made his objectives for the season crystal clear, stating that his squad is built to fight for every title available, but warning that they must still improve their consistency to become a truly dominant side.
The Portuguese coach, speaking to the media at Real Madrid City in Valdebebas, delivered a confident and direct message ahead of a demanding run of fixtures in La Liga and Europe.
“We want to WIN every competition,” Mourinho declared. The statement underlines the mentality he has tried to instill since arriving at the Bernabeu in 2010 — a refusal to settle for second place and a demand for total commitment in every tournament the club enters.
However, Mourinho was quick to balance that ambition with a dose of realism. While praising the talent and attacking power in his squad, he admitted that there are still key areas that require work if Madrid are to sustain a challenge on all fronts until the end of the season.
“There are things we NEED TO WORK ON, I am speaking about stability,” he said.
For Mourinho, stability means control — the ability to manage games, maintain defensive shape under pressure, and avoid the dips in concentration that have cost Madrid in big matches in the past. It is a concept he knows well from his time in Italy.
He pointed to his former team, Inter Milan, as the perfect example of what he wants to achieve in Madrid. Under his leadership, Inter won an unprecedented Treble in the 2009-10 season, combining defensive solidity with ruthless efficiency.
“When I speak about Inter, I speak about stability. Real Madrid HAS TO REACH this stability level,” Mourinho explained.
The comparison is significant. That Inter side was not always the most flamboyant, but it was exceptionally organized, mentally strong, and difficult to beat. Mourinho believes that if his current Real Madrid side — which boasts world-class players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso and Sergio Ramos — can add that same level of maturity to their obvious attacking quality, they will be unstoppable.
Analysts in Spain have noted that Madrid have shown moments of brilliance this season, scoring freely and overwhelming opponents, but have also shown vulnerability when leading, often allowing teams back into games.
Mourinho’s focus on stability suggests that training sessions have been heavily focused on tactical discipline, maintaining shape after going ahead, and improving concentration during the final minutes of each half.
With Barcelona pushing hard in La Liga and the Champions League knockout stages approaching, Mourinho’s message to his players and to the fans is twofold: the ambition is to win everything, but the work to achieve that stability is still ongoing.
