Authorities in Mombasa have arrested a couple in connection with the alleged sexual exploitation of their children and the distribution of inappropriate content online.

Regina Kauli Munyoki, 41, and her husband, Isaiah Owala Gura, 52, were taken into custody by officers from the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Changamwe.

Acting on intelligence and forensic leads, investigators say Munyoki used a dating platform, AfroIntroductions, to facilitate the exploitation of her three children, ages 13, 7, and 4.

According to investigators, Munyoki is accused of producing and sharing explicit materials and arranging illicit engagements for financial gain. Gura is separately accused of repeatedly abusing their eldest daughter over a period of years.

Both suspects were arraigned at the Mombasa Law Courts. Munyoki was granted bond at Sh1 million, with two sureties of equal value. Gura remains in custody at Shazu Prisons, pending a bond ruling scheduled for July 15, 2025.
