England international Kyle Walker has signed a two-year deal with Burnley, ending a successful stint at Manchester City to bolster the Clarets’ return to the Premier League.
The 34-year-old right-back, who won six Premier League titles under Pep Guardiola, joins Burnley as a free agent. His move reunites him with Burnley manager Scott Parker, whose vision for the club helped convince Walker to make the switch.
“When I spoke to Scott and heard about his plans for next season, it was an opportunity I jumped at,” Walker said. “He’s done an amazing job here, guiding the club back to the Premier League with a 100-point haul, and now we’re looking forward, together, at being back in the greatest league in the world at the best level.”
Walker praised Burnley’s strong 2024 campaign, highlighting their defensive discipline, and expressed eagerness to contribute to an already promising squad.
“Burnley had a tremendous campaign last season, built on an incredible defensive record, and I can’t wait to come in and add my experience and quality to what looks an exciting squad,” he said.
Walker made over 260 appearances for Manchester City and brings a wealth of domestic and international experience to Turf Moor.
