Kenya Reaffirms Unwavering Support for Sahrawi Republic in Diplomatic Talks

National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has reaffirmed Kenya’s firm commitment to the Sahrawi Republic, emphasizing the country’s continued support as a dedicated member of the African Union (AU).

During a recent diplomatic meeting, Wetang’ula declared that Kenya stands in strong solidarity with the Sahrawi people and remains fully committed to upholding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Sahrawi Republic.

He underscored that Kenya’s backing stems from a shared vision of peace, stability, and sustainable development across Africa. Wetang’ula also reiterated Kenya’s resolve to continue advocating for the Sahrawi Republic’s rightful place within both regional and international platforms, reinforcing the country’s long-standing Pan-African stance.

In response, Ambassador Mohamed-Liman Ali Ami expressed deep appreciation for Kenya’s consistent support over the years. He praised Kenya’s vital role as a reliable ally in the Sahrawi Republic’s ongoing journey toward peace, justice, and independence.
Ambassador Ami highlighted that Kenya’s contributions have helped create an enabling environment for dialogue and progress, which is key to realizing the aspirations of the Sahrawi people.

Looking ahead, Ambassador Ami pointed to the vast potential for strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations. He emphasized that Kenya’s experience in governance, infrastructure, education, and economic empowerment could greatly benefit the Sahrawi Republic’s development efforts.

The ambassador called for deeper cooperation, noting that stronger ties would not only uplift both nations but also contribute to the wider goals of African unity and progress.

Both parties concluded the meeting on a high note, expressing optimism about the future of Kenya–Sahrawi relations. They pledged to intensify joint efforts to promote peace, development, and solidarity across the continent, reaffirming their commitment to a united and prosperous Africa.
