The first leg of the Rugby 7s series in Kenya and Uganda came to an end with Stanbic Black Pirates and the KCB rugby wins respectively.

The Dala 7s tournament in Kisumu was filed with a lot of excitement and great display of expert rugby where KCB Rugby club and their long time Kenya Cup rivals Kabras sugar rubbed shoulders in the finals but the King of the Den KCB proved to be unstoppable and secured a 17- 5 win at the Jomo Kenyatta grounds.

In Uganda the Black Pirates made a great deal of their finals by paralyzing their opponents the KoBs to secure a 19 – 7 win at the Dam Waters Ground and ended up being crowned the Stone City Champions.

Ironically, in both nations first leg of the series ended with a great deal after the leagues champions failed to take part in the finals as both the Menengai oilers RFC and the Hippos Rugby clubs failed to have a performance in the finals.

The Kenya National 7s League will proceed to Mombasa for their second leg commonly known as the Driftwood sevens while the Uganda league, Nile Special 7s will proceed to Kitgum at the Bamah Grounds on the 8th  and 9th  of July.
