Jepchirchir said that prior to the fatal incident, she heard the deceased Victor Kipchumba quarreling over the phone with the accused police officer over issues related to infidelity.

A police woman shot and killed her estranged husband 12 times in cold blood using a G3 rifle in the couple’s two bed roomed rental house in
Kimumu estate along the Eldoret-Iten highway, an Eldoret High Court heard Thursday.

The 19 year-old Sharon Jepchirchir who was house help of the accused Police constable Lillian Biwot recalled that the tragic incident
occurred on the fateful night of October 9, 2023.

Jepchirchir was testifying before Justice Reuben Nyakundi in a case where the Administration Policewoman is accused of shooting her husband Victor Kipchumba to death on the night of October 9, 2023 at
the couple’s rented house at Kimumu estate along the Eldoret-Iten highway, Uasin Gishu County.

She recalled that Lillian arrived at their rented house on a motor bike from her work station at the Kenya Bureau of Standards Eldoret
branch after her husband called her saying that he was in the process of slaughtering their four children.

“Lillian arrived at their rental house at night while armed with a G3 rifle where I opened the door for her before going back to sleep in my
bedroom. I could hear an exchange of bitter words between the two from my bedroom which went on for two hours,” she told the Judge.

Jepchirchir said that prior to the fatal incident, she heard the deceased Victor Kipchumba quarreling over the phone with the accused police officer over issues related to infidelity.

“I heard the deceased accuse his wife on phone of cheating on him while lying that she had gone to work. He then told Lillian that he
was going to slaughter their children with a knife on that night,”stated Jepchirchir.

Jepchirchir recalled that they were through with their feuds; she then heard several sounds of gun shots emanating from the couple’s bedroom.

“I then heard Lillian open the door and left with the weapon that she used in the murder incident. I was left worried and confused and after I regained courage, I made distress calls to neighbors who rushed to the house and witnessed what had happened,” she added.

The deceased, Jepchirchir added, used to walk with two knives and was always saying that he will one day terminate the lives of their
children over suspicions of a love triangle with his wife.

She told the Judge that there were frequent domestic flights between the two in the house coupled with quarrels about infidelity the
deceased fingered at his wife.

Justice Nyakundi adjourned the matter until May 13,2024.
