The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced that fuel prices across the country will remain unchanged for the pricing cycle running from July 15, 2026, to August 14, 2026, offering temporary relief to motorists and businesses.

Under the new review, super petrol will continue retailing atKsh214.03 per litre in Nairobi, while diesel will retail at Ksh222.86 per litre and kerosene at Ksh191.38 per litre.

“In the period under review, the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices for super petrol, diesel and kerosene remain unchanged,” EPRA said in a statement released on Tuesday.

The regulator attributed the stable pump prices to continued government intervention aimed at cushioning consumers from global oil market shocks.

To ensure price stability, the government extended the 8 per cent VAT on petroleum products for a further three months to October 2026. It also utilisedKsh945 million from the Petroleum Development Levy (PDL) Fund to keep pump prices stable.

EPRA reported a drop in the average landed cost of petroleum products during the review period. The landed cost of super petrol fell by 21 per cent to Ksh115,070 per cubic metre in June, down from about Ksh146,250 per cubic metre in May.

Diesel’s landed cost declined by 19.8 per cent to Ksh127,700 per cubic metre, compared to about Ksh143,800 in the previous month, while kerosene dropped by 11.7 per cent to Ksh133,370 per cubic metre, down from about Ksh150,990.

The average exchange rate used in the pricing cycle stood at Ksh129.72 to the US dollar, remaining relatively stable compared to previous months.

The new prices take effect from midnight on July 15 and will remain in force until August 14, when EPRA will conduct its next monthly review.
