Eldoret:Plea taking deferred against prime suspect in the destruction of Soy maize plantation!

Eldoret Law Courts Resident Magistrate Rosemary Onkoba  Monday deferred  the plea Taking against a middle  aged  man Wilson Kibet, suspected to  have sprayed a  dangerous  herbicide on a maize plantation estimated  at seven Acres in Soy Sub County ,Uasin Gishu.

The Suspect was arrested last week and released on a cash bail of KSH 50,000.

Joseph Kipchirchir Terer, a prominent  farmer in Uasin Gishu reported  the matter at  Eldoret Central police  Station upon receiving the shocking news  that  has  led to massive  losses at his  10 acre Kimisto farm .

“Two people were spotted on the farm spraying the herbicide with Knapsacks while another third person stood by the road where a Yellow Chevrolet Pick-up carrying the dangerous herbicide had been packed just next to the farm”. He narrated to the media after the incident.

The Suspect’s lawyer however notified the court that there was an active case and a court order before another magistrate over the said Kimsto farm.

Hon. Onkoba noted that by Consent Plea taking had been deferred to May 26th 2023.
