A well-known club in Eldoret, Kenya, is facing investigation over accusations of drugging and stealing ATM cards and other valuables from customers.

The new Club in Eldoret located along the Eldoret -Uganda Highway has been  implicated three times, with the most recent victim  Caroline Chebet (not her real name),  losing Ksh 38,000  after her card was taken.

Chebet who is a student at one of the Colleges  has criticised police work after one of the detectives investigating, reportedly harassed and discriminated against her. She also suspects that the female officer could be working  for the clubs management.

CCTV footage obtained by the Hubz Media investigation team shows Chebet enjoying herself alone, which goes against the earlier report from clubs  management claiming she was with friends.

Initially, the management denied any involvement, but later stated they were trying to resolve the matter through “other means”.

Uasin Gishu County Police Commander Benjamin Mwanthi has ordered that the case be sent to DCI detectives for further investigation as the festive season approaches.

The Uasin Gishu County government and police have released a security alert to clubs, revellers, and residents of Uasin Gishu County throughout the festive season, categorizing the theft of valuables from customers in the entertainment sector as a criminal offence.

Safety guidelines during the festive season:
