Deputy President Kithure Kindiki responded on Sunday, June 15, 2025, to remarks made by former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, who expressed reluctance to collaborate with the government and referred to Kindiki as “Mr. Half Term.”
In a statement, Kindiki acknowledged Musyoka’s comments but expressed disappointment over the “unkind words” directed at him. Musyoka, speaking earlier that day, dismissed Kindiki’s invitation to join the ruling alliance as a tactic to weaken the opposition coalition.
Kindiki emphasized that he would not engage in a public dispute with the Wiper Party leader, whom he described as a respected figure. “I hear my big brother Kalonzo has said he doesn’t wish to work with me politically.
That is fine with me. For the unkind things he has said about me, I won’t answer him back publicly, not because I can’t, but because I never do public duels with people I respect,” Kindiki stated.
However, the Deputy President cautioned that he would not hesitate to confront Musyoka directly if the opposition leader continued to spread falsehoods about him.
Despite the political friction, Kindiki reaffirmed his commitment to advancing a development agenda that serves all Kenyans, undeterred by the opposition’s stance.
