Cristiano Ronaldo Jr took his first official steps in international football, featuring for Portugal’s U15 national team in a friendly match on Monday.
The 14-year-old forward played 60 minutes before being substituted, marking a promising debut for the son of one of football’s all-time greats.

The youngster, currently part of Al Nassr’s academy in Saudi Arabia, showed glimpses of his father’s flair and positioning during the hour-long outing. While he didn’t get on the scoresheet, his off-the-ball movement and work rate drew praise from coaches and fans alike.
Cristiano Ronaldo Sr, Portugal’s record goalscorer and captain, celebrated the milestone with a heartfelt post on his verified Instagram account, writing: “Congrats on your @portugal debut, son. Very proud of you!” The post quickly went viral, amassing over 5 million likes within hours.
Ronaldo Jr has been in the spotlight since his early football days at Juventus’ youth ranks, followed by brief stints at Manchester United and currently Al Nassr, where he plays in the youth system while his father stars for the senior team.

With the weight of a legendary name on his shoulders, Ronaldo Jr’s debut signals the potential beginning of another chapter in the Ronaldo legacy, this time in Portugal’s youth ranks.
According to UEFA youth development standards, early exposure to national team setups is critical for grooming top-tier talent—a path that the younger Ronaldo has now officially embarked upon.
