Cosmas Kerich, the Acting Enforcement officer at the Uasin Gishu County Government will on Tuesday be arraigned in an Eldoret Court facing charges of threatening a magistrate.
Kerich is said to have threatened Eldoret Senior Resident magistrate Emilly Kigen at the County Headquarters last year after she witnessed the suspect Physically assaulting a hawker at the Holding cells within the Court Premises .
The Director of Public Prosecution directed Kerich be arraigned in Court after establishing availability of enough evidence against the Suspect.
The matter was expedited following an outcry by a section of Uasin Gishu County Legislators led by Huruma Ward Mca Kimani Wanjohi and Uasin Gishu County Assembly Leader of Minority Hon Francis Muya who condemned the Police for failing to take action against the acting enforcement officer.
Two more cases against County askaris have been launched at the Eldoret Central Police station ,where members of the Public have blamed the askaris for harassment .
