Faith Toroitich, Chiloba’s sister, recalled seeing her brother with Odhiambo at a nightclub on the eve of December 31, 2022. She said Chiloba introduced Odhiambo as a friend and did not elaborate further.

Toroitich also recounted how Chiloba visited her at work while intoxicated and appeared distressed. She said he promised to send her a New Year’s gift but never did. She learned of her brother’s death through a friend who showed her disturbing pictures that had been posted online.

Chiloba’s body was found in a metal box on January 3, 2023. The cause of death was determined to be asphyxiation.

The hearing of the case against Odhiambo will resume on January 31.
