After the tragic accident involving Kapsabet Boys High School students bus at Patkwanin area along the Kabarnet-Marigat road, The Moi teaching and referral hospital has since received 18 referrals.

Dr. Phillip Kirwa, Acting CEO of Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH), confirmed that 18 students were referred to the hospital by Saturday night .

“Among them, five required surgery in theatre for procedures including stitching, debridement of major wounds, tendon repairs, and fixing of bone fractures,” stated Dr. Kirwa.

In response to the incident, MTRH promptly dispatched a team comprising specialist doctors, medical officers, nurses, plaster technicians, and various surgical and medical supplies to provide comprehensive assistance to the patients referred to Baringo referral hospitals.

The Moi teaching and referral hospital has confirmed that all the students referred to the hospital are in stable condition.”
