Kenya’s Battle Against HIV: 94% on Treatment Amid Rising Infections and Deaths – A Radio Documentary
According to the National Syndemic Diseases Control Council (NSDCC), 1.4 million Kenyans are living with HIV, with 94 percent of them receiving antiretroviral treatment. However, in 2023, there were 18,000 reported AIDS-related deaths and 22,000 new HIV infections.

According to the National Syndemic Diseases Control Council (NSDCC), 1.4 million Kenyans are living with HIV, with 94 percent of them receiving antiretroviral treatment. However, in 2023, there were 18,000 reported AIDS-related deaths and 22,000 new HIV infections.
Harmony Awino, a journalism student from Maseno University currently interning at the Eldoret Media Hub, has prepared a radio documentary highlighting the progress Kenya has made in combating HIV.
