I Will Revoke Licenses For Clubs and Bars Within Estates-Governor Jonathan Bii

The Uasin Gishu county Governor Jonathan Bii has directed the department of Trade and Licenses to revoke the licenses of clubs and bars that are located within estates and less than 100 meters from learning Institutions.

 

Governor Bii spoke this during the swearing in ceremony of The County Executive Committee Members of the ten County departments.

 

“It is so unfortunate that licenses are given to people who have not followed the law ,Most of the Clubs have been located within estates  where people stay causing a lot of disturbances in their homes ,this will not be allowed in our County,”Said Jonathan Bii.

The Governor also cited the increasing rate of brewing of illicit alcohol that has had adverse effect on the Youth and warned that in collaboration with the National Government they will heighten the fight against Drugs and Alcohol Abuse

 

We cannot allow the selling of illicit brews in our county. Some of our Women in Kesses Sub County are now claiming that their men are not husbands anymore. Where are we heading?,”Paused the County Boss.

 

The Governor has called on The Uasin Gishu county commissioner Dr. Nyale Eddyson to arrest business people involved in the production and sale of second generation liquor that has been on the increase within the County.

 

“I am urging the Security Team to ensure they arrest notorious brewers of illicit alcohol, we will collaborate to ensure that Clubs and bars operate within the law.

 

The governor has urged all the Ten County Executive Committee Members to reach a target on their performances in line with the Governors’ manifesto and they will be held responsible for their actions or omission of it within their departments.
