“The safety and security of both educators and students in the North Rift Region’s bandit-affected areas stand as a paramount concern for the Government,” Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has assured.

In response to circulating rumors alleging school closures due to escalating banditry, Machogu has adamantly refuted such claims, emphasizing the Government’s unwavering dedication to ensuring robust security measures are in place.

Speaking at the Henry Kosgei Kibukwo Secondary School in Tinderet, Nandi County, during a commemorative event celebrating the outstanding results of the previous year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations, CS Machogu  highlighted the coordinated efforts between the Interior Ministry and the education sector, stressing the collaborative approach in combating banditry activities.

“It is imperative to recognize the concerted efforts between the Interior Ministry and the education docket,” affirmed Machogu, underlining the proactive stance taken by the government to safeguard the region.

In light of recent security incidents that have unsettled certain pockets of the county, Machogu assured attendees of the Government’s resolve to fortify security measures.

“The government remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all stakeholders within the education sector,” asserted CS Machogu, reiterating the collaborative nature of efforts to address security concerns.
