Homa Bay Police Arrest Suspected Gang Leader, Seven Associates

Police have arrested a man described as a suspected gang leader in Homa Bay alongside seven other men accused of obstructing officers during a nighttime operation to execute an arrest warrant.

The main suspect, Kassim Abdi Sebo, was arrested at Homa Bay Bus Stage on Thursday night, October 8, 2026, as officers sought to enforce a warrant issued by the Homa Bay Law Courts on August 14.

According to police records, the warrant relates to an alleged offence of assault causing actual bodily harm, contrary to Section 251 of the Penal Code.

Officers from Homa Bay Police Station and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Homa Bay Sub-County conducted the operation under the command of County Police Commander Lawrence Koilem.

Police said seven men who were accompanying Sebo allegedly interfered with the officers as they attempted to execute the warrant. Officers arrested the men and detained them alongside the main suspect.

The seven men were identified as Victor Odhiambo Achiando, 26, Isaac Masika Muliro, 30, Moses Geoffrey Oyege, 27, Geoffrey Njore, 25, Wesley Arnold Odhiambo, 26, Joseph Kobila, 28, and Alfred Nyagiro Aliwa, 26.

The eight suspects remained in police custody pending their appearance in court, according to reports published on Friday, October 9.
