Uasin Gishu Senator Jackson Mandago has called for deeper collaboration between the national and county governments to strengthen Kenya’s healthcare system and improve health outcomes for millions of citizens.

Speaking during the Joint Annual Programme Review 2026 and the official launch of the 47 County Syndemic Operational Plans, Mandago emphasized that sustained investment and coordinated action are critical in tackling the country’s growing health challenges.

The high-level event brought together Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, health experts, development partners, and key stakeholders in the healthcare sector to assess progress and chart the way forward in combating syndemic diseases.

Mandago noted that effective healthcare delivery can only be achieved through a united approach that combines national leadership with county-level implementation.

“To achieve better health outcomes for all Kenyans, we must strengthen collaboration between the national and county governments, sustain investment in healthcare, and prioritize data-driven interventions,” the senator said.

He stressed the importance of preventive healthcare, early diagnosis, and robust treatment systems, adding that Kenya must continue building its preparedness capacity to respond effectively to complex and interconnected disease burdens.

The launch of the 47 County Syndemic Operational Plans marks a significant milestone in Kenya’s efforts to address multiple health challenges simultaneously, including communicable and non-communicable diseases, while ensuring healthcare services reach communities across the country.

Health stakeholders at the forum reiterated the need for evidence-based decision-making and stronger partnerships to accelerate progress toward universal health coverage and a healthier future for all Kenyans.

As Kenya continues to reform its healthcare sector, leaders say collaboration, innovation, and sustained investment will be key pillars in building a resilient health system capable of meeting both current and emerging health threats.
