Africa Forward Summit Day Two Focuses on Finance Reform, Peace, AI and Health at KICC
Day two of the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi is focusing on finance reforms, peace and security, artificial intelligence, health and agriculture, with African and global leaders holding high-level talks at KICC.

The Africa Forward Summit entered its second day in Nairobi with high-level discussions at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) focusing on financial reforms, peace and security, artificial intelligence, health, agriculture and the blue economy.
According to the summit programme, leaders and global policymakers are expected to deliberate on ways to reform the international financial architecture and improve African countries’ access to sustainable financing during a plenary working lunch scheduled from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Among the key speakers lined up for the financing session are Emmanuel Macron, Kristalina Georgieva and Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Other participants include Makhtar Diop, Hakainde Hichilema, Odile Renaud-Basso and Abdel Fattah al-Sisi alongside representatives from the African Development Bank (AfDB), ATI and other institutions.
A separate plenary session on peace and security is scheduled from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., with opening remarks expected from President William Ruto and President Macron.
The discussions will feature António Guterres and Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, focusing on conflict resolution and regional stability.
The summit programme also includes a segment on “African mediations for African crises” featuring Faure Gnassingbé, Ismail Omar Guelleh and Mohamed Ould Ghazouani.
Discussions on financing African peace operations are expected to include Daniel Chapo and John Dramani Mahama.
Later in the evening, parallel roundtables on artificial intelligence and digital technologies will take place at Taifa Hall, featuring Duma Boko and Paul Kagame among other speakers.
Additional sessions on the blue economy, health and agriculture are also scheduled, with the health roundtable to be moderated by Githinji Gitahi.
