Parliament Invites Public Views on KSh4.82 Trillion 2026/27 Budget Across Counties
Kenyans are invited by the National Assembly to share their opinions about the proposed KSh4.82 trillion 2026/27 budget during public participation forums which will take place across multiple counties from May 13 to 15.

The National Assembly of Kenya has launched a public participation program which enables Kenyans to provide their opinions about the proposed KSh4.82 trillion budget estimates for the 2026/27 Financial Year.
National Assembly Clerk Samuel Njoroge announced through a public notice that public hearings will take place from May 13 to May 15 in different counties throughout the nation.
The public has received encouragement to provide their written memoranda through two methods which include delivering them directly to the Office of the Clerk at Parliament Buildings or sending them via electronic mail to until May 25 at 5:00 p.m.
The notice states that on May 13, hearings will be conducted in Kitui County, Garissa County, Homa Bay County, Nyandarua County and Nairobi at designated venues including Kitui Multipurpose Hall, Garissa Library, Orero Boys National School Hall, Ol Joro Orok CDF Hall and Utawala DCC Office.
On May 14, similar forums will take place in Busia County, Siaya County, Bungoma County, Kirinyaga County, Taita Taveta County, Tana River County, Marsabit County, Bomet County and Kajiado County.
Public meetings in West Pokot County and Meru County will mark the conclusion of the exercise on May 15.
The National Treasury of Kenya has tabled a budget which proposes total spending of KSh4.82 trillion, resulting in a 1.92 percent increase when compared to the previous financial year’s expenditures.
The budget will be funded by expected revenues of KSh3.63 trillion, which will result in a fiscal deficit of KSh1.11 trillion that the government intends to cover through domestic borrowing of KSh995.7 billion.
The public participation exercise enables citizens to select their national budgeting priorities while the process makes all public resource allocation procedures more transparent according to officials.
