The Kenya Ports Authority continues to provide support for Muslim communities during the holy month of Ramadhan through its dedication to communal values and its initiatives which fulfill local community requirements. The Authority’s Managing Director Captain William Ruto expressed his pride in the organization’s commitment to support Muslim faithful during this sacred period while he described the organization’s outreach work as dedicated to helping others through its commitment to community involvement.

The Authority shows its dedication to philanthropist work by providing Sh3.35 million worth of food supplies to support Muslim families in need during their fasting period. The support will assist 25 organizations which operate throughout Mombasa County. Captain Ruto announced the support at KPA headquarters during a flag-off ceremony which served as the official announcement of the initiative to provide Iftar meal assistance to households who struggle with meal access.

The initiative represents KPA’s continuous work to improve community conditions during important religious occasions. The Authority has distributed food supplies for Iftar to numerous community-based organizations throughout the county during the past three years. The decision to increase this year’s donation according to him stems from the rising requirements of vulnerable people.

The Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya, Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims, Mombasa Madrassa Teachers Welfare, Assembly of Ulama and Imams, Kenya Muslim Women Alliance, and particular educational institutions represent several key Muslim groups receiving benefits from the organization. Lamu County received earlier shipments of identical food supplies which local community organizations will use to distribute to the people who require assistance.
