300 trolley pushers In Eldoret have pleaded with Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii to help them secure back close to 400 trolleys that were confiscated by the County enforcement officers .
The youth who are currently jobless claim they were never issued with any notice not to have the trolleys within the CBD and many are now unable to feed their families.
“For the last two weeks , at the Eldoret main stage we have had over 300 trolleys , we have only been left with less than five after the county enforcement officers confiscated them and they are currently at the county yard,we can no longer provide for our families efforts to have a sit down with the county enforcement officers has born no fruits, we have lacked audience”Said William Temba.
Daniel Evanso another victim claims his wife left him after he was unable to provide for their daily needs,

“My entire life has been around the trolleys , it pays for my bills and other needs including my children’s school fees, the last two weeks have been the most difficult for me, I don’t know where my family went and what my children could be eating ,” Sobbed Evanso.
The trolley pushers have appealed with the county government to hand them back the trolleys with any directives that they will be willing to abide to,
“ we don’t intend to engage in crime ,pushing a trolley is not a crime either, it is not a noble job to many but It helps us earn a living genuinely ,we are willing to abide to any directives that may be provided by the county government as long as they allow us to operate within the CBD”
We are humbly asking our governor Chelilim, please let us have our trolleys back we voted for you as “gavana wa raia”( the peoples governor ) and we also voted for the president Dr Willima Ruto in our numbers as the chief Hustler with the hopes that they will understand us better and provide us with a better working environment , many of us are educated however circumstances have forced us into this business, They added .

Human rights defenders led by Juma Akumu and Duncan Arun have castigated the county government Of Uasin Gishu for rendering over 300 youth jobless and have further implored upon the Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Dr. Edison Nyale to speak out against the County Askaris brutality and continuous harassment of genuine traders,
“It is heartbreaking that such a huge number of youth who were dependent on themselves for survival have been rendered jobless , why are we criminalizing poverty and manual jobs in this county?, The continued harassment of traders will result into a security concern ,however the current county commissioner has maintained his silence pausing a lot of concerns from members of the public “Paused the Human right defenders.
