ELDOWAS Faces Senate Scrutiny Over FY 2024/2025 Audit Findings

The management and Board of Eldoret Water and Sanitation Company (ELDOWAS) presented their financial and governance performance information to the Senate County Public Investments and Special Funds Committee on Tuesday. Uasin Gishu Governor H.E. Jonathan Bii Chelilim who serves as the company shareholder led the presentation.
The committee performed its constitutional duty to assess Auditor-General financial statements which were presented to the committee during its examination of county public investments and special funds for the 2024/2025 Financial Year.
ELDOWAS officials explained all audit report issues during the hearing. They provided information about corporate governance practices and financial control systems and operational performance. The committee received an update about the complete reform initiatives which included ongoing efforts to build internal controls and ensure regulatory compliance and service delivery improvements.
The company stated that its current reform efforts will increase accountability while they protect public assets. The company emphasized that effective financial management serves as the foundation for maintaining continuous water service and sanitation service delivery to Eldoret City residents.

The Senate committee required county-owned entities to establish strong financial management systems together with effective service delivery capacity. The committee continues to analyze audit reports which it receives from multiple regions throughout the country.
