Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Kipchumba Sudi on Friday, December 26 (Boxing Day), gifted two of his long-serving employees three-bedroom bungalows worth more than KSh7 million each, in a rare show of appreciation for loyalty and diligence.
The houses were officially handed over during a consecration ceremony attended by family members, neighbours and close associates at Kapseret.
Speaking during the event, the vocal legislator said the gesture was meant to honour employees who had served him faithfully over the years without demanding favours or recognition.
“Hermstone Makam has been my employee for over 15 years. We met in Nairobi where he used to wash my car. I later offered him a job here in Kapseret,” Sudi said.
“He has been diligent, faithful and very patient. He has never asked for anything. Today, I am gifting him and his family this beautiful house to honour his hard work.”
Sudi praised Makam’s integrity, noting that he had earned the trust of his entire family over the years.

“He has never stolen anything. He has seen my children grow, and they all love and respect him,” he added.
Another beneficiary, Peninah Manyara(mama Mungai) was overcome with emotion as she received the keys to her new home, saying the gift fulfilled a long-held dream she had hoped her late son would realise.

“My son had promised to build me a house before he died. I have lived in Langas Estate as a tenant for over two decades, hoping that one day he would fulfil that promise,” she said, sobbing with joy.
“Today, that dream has been realised by Hon. Sudi. I am the happiest. May God bless him and his family.”
Manyara revealed that her son had previously worked for the MP before passing away due to health complications. Sudi said he had promised to build her a house during the burial ceremony—and was determined to keep his word.
“I made that promise, and today, on Boxing Day, my family and I have unveiled this gift to her,” Sudi said.
The MP further disclosed that he is constructing ten additional housing units to be gifted to other employees who have demonstrated commitment and diligence, regardless of their ethnic background.

“Each of these houses, including the land, costs over KSh7 million. Two more units are already complete and will be handed over tomorrow. In total, we are building ten units, and others are still coming up,” he said.
Sudi encouraged Kenyans of means to support their employees and the vulnerable, especially during the Christmas season.
“I urge other employers to appreciate their workers. This is the Christmas spirit—giving and supporting those who stand with us every day,” he said.
As part of his Christmas and New Year message, the Kapseret MP also called for unity, calm and peaceful coexistence as the country heads into a politically charged period ahead of the 2027 General Election.
“I call upon Kenyans of goodwill to support the vulnerable and the unfortunate in society, and to maintain peace even as political temperatures rise in 2026,” he said.
“Those who wish to chant one-term or two-term slogans should do so peacefully and explain their positions to Kenyans. Ultimately, it is the people who will decide in 2027.”
Sudi called upon Pastor Dorcas Gachagua to offer prayers for national unity, including prayers for the former Deputy President, saying peace and cohesion must prevail over tribalism.
The Boxing Day event capped a series of charitable activities by the MP, who is known for his outspoken political stance and philanthropic gestures within Kapseret and beyond.
