Detectives have arrested two members of the controversial Fighting Brutality and Impunity (FBI) movement as investigations intensify into suspected terror-related activities.

Patrick Nyambaka Osoi, a founding member of the group, was apprehended during a meticulously coordinated operation along Lang’ata Road. He was arraigned today at the Kahawa Law Courts, facing multiple charges under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, 2012, including unlawful possession of a firearm.

Authorities confirmed that Osoi is currently detained at Muthaiga Police Station as the prosecution seeks custodial orders, with the court expected to issue a ruling on his detention on July 31, 2025.

In a related development, Jackson Kuria Kihara, known by the alias Cop Shakur, was arrested in Kahawa West on suspicion of being connected to the same offences.

Detectives recovered a red beret emblazoned with the movement’s ‘FBI’ insignia during his arrest, raising concerns over the group’s alleged paramilitary symbolism and organization.

Kihara is set to appear before the Kahawa Law Courts on July 31, 2025, where he will also face terrorism-related charges.

The Fighting Brutality and Impunity movement, which initially emerged as a civil rights group, has increasingly drawn scrutiny from security agencies over its structure, rhetoric, and suspected links to extremist ideologies.
